Professor Timo Otonkoski
Timo Otonkoski, MD, PhD, is the Professor of Medical Stem Cell Research at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki. He directs the Biomedicum Stem Cell Centre, a Core Facility for human pluripotent stem cell services.
He is also the vice director of the Molecular Neurology Research Program of the Faculty. His main research interests are in cellular reprogramming for the generation of patient cell-specific disease models. He is particularly interested in pancreatic beta cell differentiation and diabetes. Dr. Otonkoski is also a specialist in Pediatric Endocrinology and has a part-time clinical position at the Children's Hospital.
