Diabetes Wellness Workshops & Retreats

As part of the charity’s education programme, Diabetes Wellness Workshops and Retreats are organised to give people with diabetes the opportunity to interact and learn in a relaxed and convivial environment. We recognise the benefit that can come from discussing concerns and experiences with both healthcare professionals and other people living with diabetes. These events are specially tailored to the needs of people with diabetes and provide an invaluable service to those in need of advice, especially the newly diagnosed or anyone having difficulty controlling their blood sugar levels.

Attention is focused on the practical aspects of living with diabetes and the keys to healthy living. The daily programme comprises short talks by healthcare professionals, group discussions, private consultation time (3 or 4 day Retreats only) and supervised exercise sessions. Effort is made to cover the spectrum of diabetes issues, from foot care to dietary advice, and questions are encouraged throughout to ensure that everyone comes away from the event satisfied that they are better equipped to manage their diabetes successfully.
